The beginning. Your workout journey

Starting an exercise routine can seem daunting, especially if you’re new to it. However, you don’t need a gym membership or fancy equipment to start exercising. You can effortlessly begin working out from the comfort of your own home.

Disclaimer- I have been doing home workouts, or outdoor workouts for over 7 years now!

Here are some tips regarding exercising from home, thanks to my training and health app.

Choose an exercise you enjoy: The first step to sticking with an exercise routine is choosing a workout/s you enjoy. If you don’t like running, don’t force yourself to do it. Instead, try yoga (also on my app), pilates, or my bodyweight and functional training style. Find what motivates you and go from there.

Start with short workouts: It’s essential to start slowly and gradually increase your workout intensity and duration. If you haven’t been exercising regularly, start with short workouts of around 15-20 minutes a day. You can increase the duration as you get more comfortable. ( I have a new program called 30 for 30, 30-minute bodyweight workouts, 4 days a week for 30 days)

Warm-up and cool down: Before you start exercising, warm up your body with some light movements such as walking or mobility. Gentle mobility is a great way to cool down to prevent injury after a workout. (mobility is on my app)

Make a schedule: It’s easier to stay consistent with your exercise routine if you have a set schedule. Decide which days and times you will exercise and stick to them. This will help make working out a habit.

Use bodyweight exercises: You don’t need expensive equipment to exercise at home. Exercises such as squats, lunges, push-ups, and planks can be done anywhere and are effective at building strength. Plus all the varieties and ones you haven’t heard of… yet 😉

Incorporate cardio: Cardiovascular exercise is important for heart health and weight loss. You can do cardio at home by going for a walk or jog around your neighborhood, jumping rope, or doing high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts- My app

If you’re not sure how to do certain exercises, You should make sure via video tutorials or a face to face trainer.

Get creative: If you don’t have a lot of space or equipment, get creative with your workout routine. Use household items like water bottles or cans as weights. Do lunges down your hallway. Find ways to make your workout fit your space and your needs. My app can help you with this too!

Involve others: Working out with a friend or family member can be a great way to stay motivated and accountable. You can also join an online fitness community to connect with others who are also starting their fitness journey.

Be patient and kind to yourself: Starting a new exercise routine can be challenging, but don’t get discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. Remember that progress takes time, and it’s important to be patient and kind to yourself along the way.

In conclusion, starting an exercise routine at home can be a great way to improve your health and fitness. With a little creativity and motivation, you can build a workout routine that fits your lifestyle and goals. Remember to start slowly, choose activities you enjoy, and be patient with yourself. With time and consistency, you’ll be on your way to a healthier, happier you.
